Extended Stay America Oakland Alameda Airport

The staff really try to make things easy, and Kossandra was very nice and helpful along with her coworkers. I’d recommend the place mostly for the service, since they’ll try to make things right if you’re unhappy or need information. For the price, it’s a pretty good spot. The place was clean, the kitchenette had good essentials, the building felt safe, and the main bed was comfortable. The shower was spacious and the TV had good channels. My main complaints were the rock-hard pullout mattress and slow free Wi-Fi. It’s a somewhat isolated location, but with a car you can get into town quickly. If you like being away from the busy side of Alemeda, it could suit you.

Kossandra really stood out. She reminded me that my parking pass was about to expire and greets people with a smile. Service from the staff was great, and the price makes this a good place to stay. It’s convenient to pretty much everything in the East Bay and the airport. The drawbacks are the business park setting and the lack of food options within a reasonable walking distance. The low price also means less impressive sofas and amenities, but you get what you pay for.

The location is practical for getting to Alameda and Oakland, and from the parking lot and some rooms you get a great view of Oakland airport. But the old single-pane windows can make it loud at times, and there are no restaurants or gas stations nearby. Inside, the stained carpets and furniture were disappointing even for the price. The front door keycard lock worked only about half the time. The bathroom door was broken: the handle just spins, and there’s no pin to keep it closed.

The location works well for my business trips, but the noise overhead made it hard to sleep both nights. Someone was line dancing above my room, and the composite wood-style floors don’t do much to quiet things down. The smell in the halls and elevator also gave me the impression that many guests weren’t in the same cargo or piloting business as me, but were flying by other means than mechanical.
