Marina Village Inn

Vic made both check-in and check-out easy, and took time to answer my questions about the area and things to do. The whole staff was friendly and helpful. Marina Village Inn is well kept, and the rooms are clean. Being right on the bay makes it peaceful, with lovely marina and bay views. Rates are reasonable, and it’s convenient for getting to Oakland and San Francisco. A great team at a great inn.

For what this hotel charges, the service was unacceptable. We asked for water and got a dismissive answer: the only water was in the room, and we’d have to leave the hotel to get more. There wasn’t even a convenience store within walking distance. We also stayed Saturday through Tuesday and never got housekeeping once. When we asked about cleaning, staff said it was done every other day. Asking for extra towels was met with hesitation and an unprofessional attitude. We were put in Room 201, where light came through the door seal and hallway noise never let up. We asked to move because of the noise, but were told there were no rooms available, even though several were listed online at the time. There was no access to basic things like water or utensils, along with no housekeeping and consistently poor service. For the price, this stay was extremely disappointing and fell below basic hospitality standards. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The price is what first caught my eye online, and it looked clean too. In person it was even better: clean, affordable, and with nice people working there. Check-in was quick and easy, and the man who helped me was friendly and accommodating. Some downstairs rooms have little porch areas by the back door. It’s easy to reach from the freeway or tunnel, with a quiet exterior and not much traffic. There’s lots of parking. The maids were nice and didn’t bang on my door in the morning or rush me at checkout, which I really appreciated. I enjoyed my first stay and will definitely come back. 👍

Marina Village Inn is an older place, but it’s a peaceful little retreat after a busy day in the city. A waterfront room is a lovely way to unwind in the evening. The staff are professional and very accommodating. I almost didn’t want to leave a good review and let this secret out, haha. But I really do love staying here.
