I was visiting someone at the hotel and came away impressed by the staff, especially housekeeping. The rooms were clean, organized, and fresh-smelling, and it was clear the team put real effort into keeping them comfortable and presentable. The front desk staff were polite and helpful, handled guests professionally, and kept things moving smoothly. The building, though, is showing its age. Some bathrooms had cracked or loose tiles, sink caulking coming apart, and occasional plumbing problems such as noisy or running toilets. Maintenance seems to be doing what they can, but the property would benefit from updates to meet current standards. Breakfast was acceptable, but could improve to match the effort staff put in elsewhere. The employees are working hard, and the property needs attention.

I saw a housekeeper, I believe her name was Julia, patiently help an older guest who had misplaced a necklace. The guest was upset, but Julia never seemed rushed or annoyed while looking for it, and she found it for her. The woman was so grateful and kept thanking her for the kindness and respect. That sort of moment says a lot about a person. Julia brings a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and customer service that makes a lasting impression on guests and staff. Fairfield is lucky to have her.

Everything was close to what we needed in Alamagordo, and the stay was wonderful. The suites were well appointed, beds comfortable, and it was so quiet, barely 10 decibels. The pool and its surrounding area were clean and tidy, and the little grocery shop had plenty for those 0200 chocolate cravings. Staff were amazingly friendly, the place was spotless, breakfast piping hot, and the shower stayed hot for days!

The one thing I didn’t like was having Fox News on during breakfast. Starting the day with unavoidable politics wasn’t great. We arrived right at check-in, and Brandy found us a room and helped get our Bonvoy number entered correctly. The room was clean and nice. Before we headed to the park, Brandy suggested taking sleds, then got some for us along with a soap bar to prep them. The hot tub was properly hot, and its jets were among the strongest I’ve tried. A good place overall, though maybe the Hilton next door doesn’t have politics on at breakfast.

The staff were attentive and friendly, and everything felt fresh and well cared for. The Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites in Alamogordo was very clean, quiet, and peaceful, just right for unwinding after a long day. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
