Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Alamogordo Hwy 54/70 by IHG

After checkout, I noticed my ring was missing. The staff found it quickly and arranged to ship it back to us, which we really appreciated. That kind of care matched the warm welcome we got from the front desk throughout our five-night winter vacation. We enjoyed the coffee at breakfast each morning, and having Walmart and plenty of restaurants nearby made things easy. The pool and hot tub were popular, and our son had a great time and made fun memories. The hotel was comfortable overall, and I'd highly recommend it for its friendly staff and convenient location.

The cold pool was the one real letdown for me. I don't think it was heated, and I was sad about that since it was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel. There were lots of towels, though, and the hot tub was awesome. Snacks are available by the front desk. We drove from albuquerque for my father's funeral in Tularosa and found this place while researching. The night desk lady was funny, nice, quick, and efficient even while busy with other customers. The morning staff were kind and friendly. Our room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds, soft sheets, two kinds of pillows per person, warm to hot water, and great AC. It also had a Keurig, plenty of outlets, a small fridge with freezer, microwave, televisions, a desk and chair, a comfy corner chair, and a pullout couch we didn't use. The Dove products were good quality. Breakfast was complimentary and great. My kids loved the bacon, and I liked the muffin. There were plenty of nearby places for food and shopping, and the drive to white sands was close. The hotel would have been a 5 for me if the pool had been warm. I'd definitely book here again. More hotels should be like this one.

For the price, this was a solid choice and I'd stay again. There's a good selection of restaurants nearby. The room and bathroom were clean, the front desk person was pleasant, and the water pressure was fine. Breakfast was decent, about what I'd expect for a hotel in this category.

The bed wasn't especially comfortable, and the bathtub was on the small side. I also picked a first-floor room by mistake, and it was pretty loud since the doors and walls don't block sound very well. The rooms are older but don't feel dated. Staff were polite, pleasant to talk with, and careful about daily cleaning. Breakfast was free and the location was good. For the money, it's a good value, and I have no major complaints. I'd feel comfortable recommending it to travelers.
