Hampton Inn & Suites Albany-East Greenbush

We had a very pleasant stay, and the breakfast service was exceptional. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the location was quiet. We were planning a fall foliage trip, when most hotels were understandably booked, and this was one of the few with room for our party of 15. We'd never stayed at a Hampton Inn before. We arrived after midnight and the staff were very welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Breakfast was included, and the rooms worked well enough and were conveniently placed for the wedding venue. We were glad to find a place for one night during a busy season. The rugs were dirty, the shower pressure wasn't great, and the sofa wasn't comfortable. The bathroom was spacious.

The two women working nights were friendly and understanding, but the front desk woman I dealt with was rude every time. When my son had an accident in the room, I asked for housekeeping even though we weren't supposed to have service, and she stayed snippy, including when asking for my room number. My fiancé also couldn't sleep because the people above us stomped from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. during our four-day stay. I'm still waiting for the $50 security deposit, too. I left my Olaplex shampoo by the shower head and know it was there. After unpacking at home I didn't have it, and I haven't gone anywhere else. It's a $50 bottle, and nobody called to ask if I wanted it back. When I called, the same front desk person said, “well you don’t know that it was left here.” I do. A cheaper water bottle I'd left at a place in PA was reported to me right away. There's no reason to be rude about it. The lobby curtains facing the windows are ripped, and the pillars have cracks and quick patches on the walls. At $600 for four days, those things should be fixed. I've never had issues at Hampton Inns in PA, so this NY stay was really disappointing. I'll book somewhere else next time.

The bed was comfortable, though it squeaked loudly with even the slightest movement and could use improvement. I had a great stay otherwise, but the garbage under the sink was still full when I arrived, and there was no hand soap in the bathroom. I asked the front desk for soap the next day, since its absence seemed strange. It felt like housekeeping hadn't fully checked the room before a new guest came in.
