The staff were helpful, and the place was spotless. It’s a charming old home turned into a lovely hotel, full of character. If you’re in Albany, treat yourself to a stay here. Look it up.

We only got to stay one night and had to leave early, but the staff were really helpful and accommodating. The Morgan State House Inn is charming, with beautiful woodwork all through the house. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone staying nearby.

Having coffee or breakfast in the back garden was a treat, and the mansion itself is beautiful and full of history. Chuck, Ginny, and Amanda made our stay memorable. We stayed in the charming room at #399, a few doors down from the main inn at #393. Its bathroom fixtures and carpet could use updating. The inn borders a park and is within walking distance of the restaurants on Lark Street. If you’re mainly visiting the Capitol or nearby businesses, though, there are more convenient places to stay.

I had a big room with a kitchen and living area, and it was quiet, warm, and cozy. A good place to settle in when you’re worn out from traveling. The staff were friendly and helped with a few special needs. There are lots of thoughtful touches, like power strips everywhere and robes. The beds were comfortable, too. It feels like a great alternative to a hotel, especially for a longer stay in downtown Albany.

We stayed here on two trips and liked both rooms, even though they vary. It’s a good option for visiting the Capitol building or complex, about a 10-15 minute walk away, so you can avoid looking for parking. We’ll be back.
