Motel 6 Albany, OR

My car broke down on the way to a gas station, and one of the motel staff came out to try to help me get it off the road. I’m really grateful for the kindness they showed my family. I hope that sweet lady gets the same kindness back.

A friend offered my wife and me a place to stay, so we called to cancel. The manager said there’d be no cancellation fee, but I was later charged the full amount. When I called back, the staff were very rude and told me to dispute it with my bank. I did, and the dispute was declined. I’ll continue to never stay at a Motel 6.

The staff’s thoughtfulness meant a lot to me. I’d called ahead to ask them not to spray room freshener because my sister gets headaches or worse from strong scents. When we arrived, Lauren at the front desk knew who I was and explained that nobody had been checked into our room the night before. They’d left it to air out for us, which really surprised me since I wasn’t sure they’d remember. There was still some lingering air freshener smell, but we left the door and window open for the first few hours and that seemed to take care of it. There’s nothing fancy about this Motel 6, but the grounds are neat and nicely landscaped. Our room was clean and had a small fridge and microwave. A major thoroughfare brings steady traffic noise during the day, though it’s pretty quiet at night, and the walls don’t block the neighbors’ sounds. The park next door has a water feature and was a lovely place for a morning walk.

This is my favorite Motel 6 so far. The staff are such kind people, and they’re always ready to help if I need something. My room has been clean and comfortable every time, and they really do their best to make the stay good. I recommend this place whenever it comes up.
