Red Carpet Inn

The room was clean and nice, which made me feel comfortable that I wouldn’t wake up itching from lice. The color scheme worked well, and I liked the painting on the wall. The showers had good pressure too. My only issue was coffee being available just from 6 to 10. I don’t drink it myself, but my parents live off the stuff. Stewart’s is right across from us, though. Otherwise, it was a beautiful place. Thanks to all the staff!

I barely slept because the bed felt dirty, so I put a towel over the chair and nodded off there. The room itself was mixed: the heater and AC worked, and I didn't see bugs, but there were stains on the sheets, chair, and desk, odd stuff on the desk, food stuck in the microwave, and something in the tub. I could hear people outside and guests in nearby rooms. The workers were polite with me, though I saw them get sharp with others. Maybe they deal with a lot of nonsense and react when they think someone is pushing it. The outside was loud, with people hanging around and smoking. I wouldn't choose it again if I had the money for another place, and I booked somewhere pricier for my four days in Albany. Still, I've stayed in worse, and if money were tight I'd come back. The place wasn't the dirtiest, but it wasn't clean either. Do with that what you will.

I wasn't staying there, just dropping off a relative who works at the hotel. A man came up and aggressively banged on my window while yelling. I couldn't tell if he was an employee or someone who meant me harm, so I ignored him and he stormed off. Later I learned he worked there. When I called to ask what that was about, he hung up on me twice. For a motel that serves all kinds of people, including folks passing through or looking for help, I'd expect better treatment. The employees were rude and customer service was poor. I wouldn't stay at a dump that lets staff disrespect visitors. Guess good help is hard to find.

The lobby looked nice, but the desk clerk barely acknowledged us, just grunted. Once we got to the room, it smelled and felt unwelcoming. Outside, several guests were hanging around with their doors open. Driving around the property, it had the kind of sketchy atmosphere that made me think it might turn into a gang battle royale gone wrong.
