Renaissance Albany Hotel

The staff were so polite and helpful, and breakfast was delicious the one morning we tried it. Our room was great too, with two double beds and plenty of space. We stayed for two nights in January 2026, and I’d definitely recommend the place.

Our corner room had a great view of the capital building and lots of space. The location was clean and convenient. Housekeeping was nice, and while some front desk staff seemed aloof, others were friendly.

The bar had a great vibe, but the regular hotel staff were rude and dismissive. We had questions about the hotel, our stay, and the area, and apparently expecting the front desk to engage was too much. Check-in took ages: we stood there for about ten minutes before a second person appeared at another desk and waited for us to notice them before telling us to come over. Nobody greeted us coming or going, not even with a smile. The room design was strange, like someone wanted a modern look on a huge budget. The shades had odd stains, the light stitches made no sense, and the layout was confusing. The bed was uncomfortable, and there was no outlet or bedside table on the other side. I’d choose a Holiday Inn over staying here again.

The parking garage connects to the hotel and capital center, but the signs don’t do a good job showing where the hotel entrance is. Inside, the room was large and mostly clean, with a mini-fridge. There’s a microwave down the hall, and the room was fairly quiet aside from some street noise. Staff were indifferent at best, not welcoming. The TV remote didn’t work for my whole stay, even after I got a replacement.
