I usually look for a distinctive independent inn or B&B when I travel. I'd rather do that than stay at a soulless corporate hotel or support AirBnB's grubby business model. This place was fantastic, with a cool old house and lovely common areas where I could read during downtime. The location was excellent too, and the price was reasonable.

I came to Albany for work expecting nothing, but the inn's character and location left me feeling like I'd actually learned something about the city. It's tidy as a whistle and clean without losing its character. I have no notes. Check-in and checkout were remote and hands-off, yet the owners communicated enough that I never felt on my own. I'd stay here again, and would even consider returning to the city as a whole because I had such a good time at the inn and in the surrounding area.

The owner gets back to you quickly. The place has beautiful Victorian charm and a comfortable, at-home feel. I'll definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.

Having the door code emailed made it really convenient when we arrived late. This was the easiest hotel stay I've had.
