Albertville is a great location, but that's about it. The room was small and just decent for sleeping, unless the roaches come out. The breakfast was a joke: awful gravy from a crockpot, with no idea how or when it was made or what was in it; biscuits wrapped in plastic wrap that could have been who knows how old; and three cereal choices with no milk. There was also a waffle maker, but that was it. The ice machine was broken, it was hot inside, and the rooms didn't cool well either.

The room itself was clean and the beds were comfortable, but this was the worst Microtel we've stayed in, though we've used them often on our travels. It wasn't this bad last year, and our last stay here was nine months ago, before Patel took over. The noise from the hallway and other rooms was awful, the walls are thin, and a strong marijuana smell hit us at the front desk and along the first-floor hall to room 106 when we returned after being out a few hours. Weekend noise like that is unacceptable to us, and I don't think the hotel meets Wyndham standards. At check-in the man was all business and not friendly, and his accent was very difficult for me to understand. The ice machine was broken too. Saturday's best rate was $146 plus add-ons and tax, but our bill came to $172. Sunday breakfast was minimal and unappealing. At 5:40, the coffee machine gave barely tinted, undrinkable water; by 7 it was clear water, and the front desk acted unaware there was no coffee brewing. There was no juice, just water and six apples. We're Wyndham members, but next time we may look elsewhere.

They kicked me out and wanted to charge me for having cereal and making coffee in the middle of the night. The coffee was basically black liquid mixed with water. Everyone was bad except Dan, who was nice. In the two-bedroom room, crumbs kept reappearing on my other bed no matter how much I cleaned or vacuumed, or how often I changed the sheets and pillows. When I switched to the other room, there was [unclear in source] all over, and it kept eating my baby.

Our host was fantastic and handled our huge cornhole group like a pro. The breakfast was exceptional, and the ladies at the front desk were so wonderful that I think three rooms from our group might otherwise have gone to the hotel next door. The bedding, though, was gross: stains on the sheets and pillowcases, blood on the towels, and mascara marks on the washcloths. I don't wear makeup, so finding those was nasty. I was glad I'd brought my own pillows and a throw blanket. I didn't tell our sweet host about the stains. The walls are thin, so you can hear neighbors talking and toilets flushing. The fire alarm went off at 2 a.m. and scared us badly, though I'm glad it worked. If the linens are stained, don't put them in another guest's room.

The woman at the front desk was amazing, so kind and took care of everything during our stay. I didn't get to thank her before we left because she was dealing with a lot. I hope the owner appreciates how hard she works. I'm guessing she's the reason people still come here. Thanks again!
