Comfort Inn Albuquerque Airport

I had two rooms on different floors the same day, and both were disgusting. In room 207 there was a piece of fried potato with hair stuck to it on the floor. Human and animal hairs covered the linens, the leisure chair, and other surfaces. The computer chair was glittery, the alarm clock and wooden tables were dusty and hairy, and the drapes had huge stains. After I complained, room 125 was a little better, but still had pubic and animal hairs on the beds. The bathroom walls were vandalized and hadn't been repainted, and the ceiling was literally falling apart over the shower. The armchair had a large circular stain the color of dried animal poop, and both shower shampoo bottles were empty. Wi-Fi wouldn't work on any of our three devices, two Pixel 7 phones and an iPad, even after the front desk tried entering credentials in several ways. There was no remote for the TV in the new room, and none was brought to us. The lobby hot water dispenser was empty. Debris and fake Christmas tree pine needles covered the carpet below the lobby TV, even though it was January 15. A spilled drink sat in the lobby all afternoon and evening. On day two, the spill was still there the next afternoon, and on day three the soda was still there. The lobby hadn't been cleaned in at least 48 hours, and the carpet still looked unvacuumed since Christmas, with fake pine needles all over it. The breakfast eggs were so dry they tasted like hard rubber. We were stuck here for three nights with my wife and young kids. No Wi-Fi, no TV, and we slept on a hard spring mattress among someone else's body hair.

If you miss the refreshed Comfort Inn style from 2011, this place has kept that same feel. The suite couch seems well-used after nearly 15 years, and the original wall paint is still there. Some bulbs look newer, perhaps because the old replacements are no longer available. The heating and air units are quiet and have been upgraded, which is a plus. The front parking lot has a waist-high iron fence, but the entrance is always open to local homeless people, so you may feel you need to stay alert. The back lot has a taller fence. Staff are friendly, and a few speak English. If you're fluent in Spanish, you'll understand everything being said. There's a placard listing prices for towels, sheets, pillows, comforters, and other items. You'd have to stay several nights and request room service each night if you wanted a full set. Hangers aren't listed, so I suppose those are free. The standard art is identical to what's in every Comfort Inn from this era; if you don't have the tool to remove it, you can find one on Amazon under Wrench-Security-Picture-Framing-Supplies. The artwork isn't listed on the price placard either. Breakfast is the traditional Choice Hotels Comfort Inn spread: scrambled eggs that look like real eggs rather than premixed liquid, sausage patties, coffee that surprisingly resembles genuine beans, a limited selection of bread and muffins, three cereals, one yogurt option, the usual dual waffle iron with traditional and blueberry mixes, plus orange and cranberry juice. Prices are lower than for comparable newer, upgraded Comfort Inns in the area. It doesn't feel or smell as fresh as those newer Choice Properties, but saving a few bucks may help you sleep a little better.

The rooms had a bad smell, and the hot tub water was brown and smelled strange, so I skipped it. What really made me leave this review happened at breakfast with my three sons. I caught a front desk employee filming me and my children on his phone. As soon as I noticed, the three employees ducked below the counter and laughed, and the man with the phone quickly went to the back room. I asked him about it, but he wouldn't speak to me and walked past. The whole thing made me very uncomfortable.

This was one of the worst Comfort Inns I’ve stayed at. Breakfast was a joke: the heated container had spaces for three items, but only eggs were there, and they looked and tasted like they’d been made the day before. There was no coffee or creamer, and the bagels were gone. In the room, I found an old dirty pair of socks under the dresser, then a giant ball of human hair when I shut the bathroom door. There was hair in the shower too, the sink looked like someone had spit in it without rinsing it down, and one of the plastic-wrapped cups had already been opened. Very, very disappointing. I’ll never stay at this location again.
