El Vado Motel

After a 10 hour drive we were worn out, so the quick check-in and affordable king room that met all our needs were much appreciated. There’s cool merch for sale in the lobby and hot drinks available 24 hours a day. A free beer at their tap room while listening to a live musician was a bonus. The outside courtyard is lovely, and I bet it’d be a great spot to relax in the warmer weather and enjoy the quirky surroundings. The pool was closed, but I’m guessing it’s a nice addition to a stay.

We had lots of places for smaller groups to catch up, and getting between the wedding spaces and our rooms was easy thanks to the layout. The room was comfortable, with the rooms and gathering areas all behind a keyed gate for security. The charming atmosphere and good on-site food options made it a wonderful place to stay and, I’d recommend it as a wedding venue too. Staff were generous and helpful. One person even brought in her own garment steamer for our clothes. They also responded quickly and helpfully when an uninvited person tried to get into the wedding. It’s near family-friendly tourist attractions, and although the motel is on a busy road, our room stayed quiet. Parking at the motel was limited, but we could use extra spaces at a neighboring motel. We’ll stay again even when we’re not there for a wedding.

There are little stores in the building, and the motel is right across from the botanical gardens. Old Town and good restaurants are also close enough to walk to. The room was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the amenities were great. It’s been well updated and cared for. Staff were very helpful and gave us good recommendations. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a place in the Old Town area.

The Pueblo-style design, with adobe walls and vigas, gave the place more character than a run-of-the-mill motel. It was a great price, and the room was clean, nice, and quiet. The botanical garden is within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.
