This is a decent, no-frills place for a layover. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the free hot breakfast buffet is a plus. The facilities aren't the newest, but that didn't bother me. The restaurant, pool, and hot tub were closed for renovations, and the pet fee is an affordable $25. The lot is in a somewhat rough area, with few lights and a number of homeless people around. I don't blame people for being homeless, but more lighting, visible cameras, and a more secure fence would make the parking area feel safer. Signs remind guests not to leave valuables in their cars. I'd recommend it to people who are fine with a lived-in place and want affordability and safety without a posh stay. If you expect perfection, you may prefer to spend another $150 per night elsewhere.

In the last two months I've stayed at ten hotels, and this one was the worst. The room made me sneeze for ages, and there weren't enough outlets for more than one guest's devices. The power strip I found was already full with the TV, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, so bring one for your family. The bathroom had a loose, broken toilet seat that could make someone fall if it shifted, an empty tissue holder, and water that took forever to get hot at the sink and tub. I hope they renovate soon, though starting over with dynamite might be cheaper. I did meet one nice staff member, but only in the morning at checkout. My wake-up call was two housekeepers shouting to each other across the hall.

The one good thing was the comfortable bed. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this place, especially for $85 a night. The room looked decades old despite the fancy lobby. The sliding balcony door wouldn't shut all the way, leaving a gap for air, and the advertised mountain views were really a look toward the interstate about 500 yards away. The TV had sound but no picture on some channels. The worst part was the microwave. After about 30 seconds of heating popcorn, it smoked, sparked inside, and caught fire. I told the front desk and moved it outside my room. They brought a replacement, but wouldn't move me to another room even though mine smelled like smoke. The bathroom handicap stool had stains that looked like dirt, poop, or something else, and seemed unsanitary. Also, they put a person with a disability and a service dog on the third floor.

I paid before arriving and couldn't get a refund, even though the place was an absolute dump. While I was checking in, a man was overdosing in the lobby, and medics came to take him away. The elevator looked and felt like it could give out at any moment. There was no breakfast, and the receptionist said the bar and grill had been closed for a while. The room stank, parts of the carpet were missing, the bedding was old, and the tub ran constantly. Large sections of bathroom floor tile were missing too. I'd sleep in my truck before staying here again.

The free breakfast was probably the only good part. The impressive entrance didn't prepare us for how rundown the rooms were. I never saw any housekeeping, and the carpets looked like they hadn't been vacuumed. The toilet bowl was filthy. Check the bed carefully too: the mattress in our first room looked scary, and I would've shown a picture. Our second room was a little better, but the sliding door latch didn't lock. There were homeless people all over the place. I wouldn't recommend staying here and won't come back.
