Nothing special, though it’s in better shape than some other places, and being pet-friendly is a plus. The breakfast stays the same, and on longer stays they change only the towels, not the bed sheets. If you’re traveling with pets, I wouldn’t switch rooms. A room with wood floors is a better choice than carpet, especially if you’re sensitive to smells. For food, I’d walk a little way to the market. The food truck is another option if that’s your thing. Pretty ordinary overall.

After a long drive, I checked in late and needed to sleep before getting up early for work. Instead, the room was filthy, with stains everywhere. It also connected to another room through a door, and the walls were so thin I could hear the TV and a couple talking as if they were right there with me. The smoke detector kept chirping and needed a new battery. I could tell I wasn’t going to get any sleep, so I asked the front desk to move me. The employee seemed annoyed and wasn’t friendly. The replacement room was ice cold and stained too. I definitely didn’t enjoy the stay and strongly recommend avoiding the Mircotel in Albuquerque.

Sleep is hard here. You can hear every TV on the floor through the thin walls, and people above you sound like big foot stomping around. The flooring is disgusting, covered in stains, white gunk, and more cigarette burns than you can count. The bedding looks and smells like it’s been there since the hotel was built. The showers are beyond gross, and the sink drains back up and never clear. There was no smoke detector in our room, just a few wires hanging from the roof. If the place caught fire, you’d likely die. On our first stay the TV had no sound, and on the most recent one it had a discolored line down the middle. There are many better hotels, so this should be your last option.

I booked a room for March 12th to 13th, but was charged for March 11th to 12th as well as for the room I actually booked. I wasn’t in town on the 11th or 12th, and I hadn’t booked or asked for that earlier night. They charged me $105, which I was told was a discounted rate because I’m a military veteran. When I discovered the charge, they refused to refund it and gave me the number for Microtel by Windham. That call went in circles, and they said I had to deal with the manager at this hotel. They also said there would be no refund. I don’t pay for hotel rooms I never stay in. Microtel knows they owe me $104, and that’s why I’m writing this negative review. The room itself was very basic. The place is ugly and needs updating, and the elevator is pretty damn scary. There are no amenities. Breakfast didn’t even have a bagel, let alone waffle batter for the waffle maker. There was no juice, drinks, or coffee creamer. The people running the place shrug off responsibility and are inconsiderate. I’ll never look for a room with this company again. These are a scam and they’ll take your money.

The lot was empty when I arrived, but they still wouldn’t let me check in 30 minutes early. I should’ve left. This was the dirtiest, most run-down hotel I’ve stayed at. The carpet, floor, and seating were stained and slimy. Bathroom fixtures were old and falling apart, and only the cold water valve worked in the shower. The towels were torn and full of holes, though at least the sheets seemed clean. I also couldn’t get a receipt. Terrible experience!
