Darlene was kind right from our first phone call. We weren’t sure we could make the drive from Arizona to Albuquerque that day, but she held a room for us just in case. We made it, thankfully, and really enjoyed this cozy, homey bed-and-breakfast. Our 10-month-old loved looking at all the decorations, and the omelet at breakfast was fire. After a cold day, the hot tub was so relaxing. We also met Darlene’s family, who were sweet and welcoming. We’d happily stay again if we return to Albuquerque.

We felt like we were staying with old friends at The Red Horse B&B. Darlene and Phil made us feel right at home, and the place was wonderfully relaxing. We visited in summer 2021, though I never got around to writing a review then. I hope we can make it back in 2026.

The room and linens were spotless, and I slept like a baby in that very comfortable bed. I also loved sitting outside on a cool South Valley evening. This was my second stay at Red Horse, and I’ve loved it both times. The house and grounds are beautiful, and Darlene and Phil are such good people. To me, Red Horse gives the best value and experience of any B&B, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again whenever I’m in Albuquerque. Thanks for having me back, Darlene and Phil, and for the tasty peanut butter cookies and coffee for the drive home.

We had a great time at the family-run Red Horse BnB. One night we ate dinner there, a barbecue that was really good, and the evening was a lot of fun. The made-to-order breakfasts were also delicious. Our room was comfortable and well equipped, and the property feels like a lovely green oasis. It’s an easy drive from Old Town Albuquerque. Darlene and Phil are terrific hosts.

It really felt like coming home to ABQ after a day out, and we had a great time. Red Horse BnB used to be a family farm, and now it’s a warm, welcoming place where everyone we met felt like an old friend. Phil greeted us and showed us around, then Cita and her husband Ralph welcomed us at breakfast. Their breakfasts were fabulous, and never the same twice. We also met Carl, who brought his Swedish family to New Mexico, and Darlene, who carried on her mom’s dream of a bed and breakfast. Everyone paid attention to our comfort and needs. Hope we get to come back someday.
