Candlewood Suites Knoxville Airport-Alcoa by IHG

The rooms are clean and have plenty of amenities, though they’re dated. Matt was amazingly helpful at check-in and when picking us up from the airport. He was kind and patient while helping us find the right place. If you’re taking the shuttle, go down the escalators, turn left, and keep going until you see the door marked Taxi. Go through there, not the rideshare doors. It’s quieter that way too.

The room was clean and came with a full-size fridge, dishwasher, small range stove, and some cookware. The bathroom was clean too, with good body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and even two-ply toilet paper. That may not make or break a stay, but it’s nice to have. McGhee Tyson Airport is close by, which is convenient for a night or two before a flight. The downside is being right in the middle of Alcoa Highway traffic. For the price and comfort, I’d stay again.

We picked this hotel because it was near our job, had a spacious room with a full kitchen, and allowed pets. Those were the only positives. The hallway carpet smelled, and dog urine in the elevator hadn’t been cleaned even after we reported it. The towels didn’t feel clean, and the weekly housekeeping wasn’t thorough. The staff were hard to approach, which made it difficult to raise concerns. WiFi was poor, and although laundry was advertised as free, the machines were broken. We planned to stay a month, but transferred after just one week. We won’t be back.

Matthew was professional and gave great customer service. He answered every question I had. The facility was clean too. I’d recommend it to anyone. Thanks, Matthew.
