Courtyard Knoxville Airport Alcoa

The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was fine, and checkout was quick and easy. Breakfast was very good when we got to eat it, and the attendants were great, but on weekends it didn't start until 7 am, which is awkward if you have an early obligation. Check-in was the rough part. Online check-in never finished, and the clerk seemed a bit unsure of the process, though they were nice. I also don't understand why hotels still use tub and shower combinations.

I had to cancel my reservation at the Courtyard by Marriott Knoxville Airport Alcoa on very short notice because my flight changed. When I called, both the front desk and management were kind and understood my situation. They handled it exceptionally well. It felt clear that the people here care about customers and don't treat unusual circumstances as a reason to give poor service. A+++

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly. I also liked the unusual grill area. But the beds weren't comfortable, the pillows were flat, and there was no bathroom exhaust fan or dehumidifier. The biggest problem was the temperature. My room stayed at 72 each night, and neither the window unit controls nor the wall HVAC controls did anything. I couldn't sleep, which is why I'm writing this now. If the heating and cooling worked, I'd give it four stars. The road outside is a nightmare to navigate, though that's not really the hotel's fault, and the active runway next door means aircraft noise every night. Unless you're in a bind, I can't recommend staying here.

Zero, the night clerk, was so helpful during our stay. My mother and I were here before her surgery, and we had a spacious, clean handicap suite. I was impressed by the wide, accessible doors. The main entrance door is a little heavy, but the large walk-in shower and roomy area for walking or a wheelchair made up for it. We'll definitely come back.
