Alexandria Inn

The room was decent and fairly clean, though the comforter looked ashy and had cigarette burns. For a $35 room, I was reasonably satisfied. I’d called two days before our reservation to add my partner’s name, and the hotel told me he’d be all set. But when he arrived ahead of me on check-in day, they wouldn’t let him in. It took a lot of effort to get his name added.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but I couldn’t stay here. There was blood on the curtains and blood, hair, and dirt on the sheets. The tub was dirty, the room smelled of mildew, the towels were stiff and stained, and the chair was covered in marks. The other guests gave me a bad feeling, and it seemed like drugs might be involved. I checked out right away instead of spending the night. At least they refunded me.

We were evacuees from Hurricane Ida and had nowhere else to go, but this place was a dump. The room had holes in the bedding, a shoe, a sock, and ashes in a drawer, plus a soft drink in the mini fridge and fries in the microwave. Ashes were also on the counter by the sink. The bathroom light switch was troublesome, and it took hours to get a roll of paper towels. The lot needed repairs, the rooms had no coffee pot or hair dryer, and the lobby wasn’t accessible. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I’d give it no stars if I could, and it should be condemned.

Only the housekeepers seemed halfway decent. The appliances in the room didn’t work except for the TV, the water ran brown until it had been running for 24 hours, and the room smelled moldy. The neighbors were rowdy, though they complained if we made noise. I won’t stay here again. No one told me about the $100 deposit until I arrived. Leaving early doesn’t get you a refund for unused days, and management said my deposit would be returned the day I checked out, but it wasn’t.
