Hotel Indigo Old Town Alexandria by IHG

I had an HVAC problem in my room on my second stay here, but they moved me to another room and sorted it out. The location is very walkable in Old Town Alexandria, and being along the Patomic means great views. I ate at the related Cafe for breakfast and dinner, and both food and service were solid. I'll stay again.

The staff were great, but the room was a letdown for the top-floor, most expensive option we booked for our anniversary staycation. Every curtain was broken, holes in the wall had been covered with duct tape, and the toilet broke. Even the restaurant's hot sauce was expired. The “$40 breakfast” is only a $40 restaurant credit, which seems silly when guests could just spend that money there without calling it breakfast. At $500 total per night, it wasn't worth it. There are better options elsewhere in old town.

The area felt clean and safe, and it was easy to get around on foot. Hotel staff were welcoming, professional, and responsive. I didn't like the daily fee added to the total, but it wouldn't stop me from staying again.

There was dust and dirt in the room, hairs on the bathroom floor, leaking faucets, and mold in the shower. We also smelled marijuana coming through the hallway vents and heard a lot of noise from the room above. Staff checked it out and said everything was okay. We've stayed at the Indigo since it opened, but it seems to be going downhill. Hopefully other guests have a better experience.
