La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Alice

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with plenty of fresh, hot choices, and the dining room stayed clean and cheerful with staff keeping things stocked. The hotel was quiet despite being near the main road, so I slept well. Housekeeping kept the room in good shape and treated it respectfully. The room was spotless and comfortable after a long drive, with fresh linens, a plush bed, a handy desk, charging outlets, and soft lighting. Check-in was quick, and the front desk team was friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and offered suggestions without pushing. From the moment I pulled into the lot at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Alice, the property felt welcoming and well cared for. I had a comfortable, convenient stay and would gladly come back on another trip. The staff showed real care throughout.

The staff were very friendly, and it was handy having a microwave and mini-fridge in the room. The hotel clearly hasn’t kept up with maintenance, though. I’ve stayed at better-kept LaQuintas. The TV didn’t work, the tub was slippery, and the mattresses were uncomfortable. The pool was closed because of “recent rains,” but the water looked very green. Breakfast was the usual sausage and eggs. At least there were places to eat nearby. I won’t be returning.

We checked in on 11/02, but after I picked up the remote to put on a show for my son, roaches came crawling out. The receptionist moved us to another room, where there were roaches near the TV too. We didn’t stay and had to go to a family member’s home. I asked for a refund, but the employee said nothing could be done and told me to contact booking.com. The room cost $106, and they charged another $100 for cancellation. When we called booking.com the next day, they said the hotel had to respond before a refund could be issued because they already had the money. The hotel then said it hadn’t received an email from booking.com about the refund. I don’t expect to get the money back, but wanted to warn others. The photos came from videos I took in the rooms.

The lobby was spotless and the sheets were clean, but the room smelled musty and looked like it hadn’t been updated since the mid-2000s. I spotted a couple of German cockroaches on the walls and left the lights on after that. The continental breakfast was pathetic.
