Sunset Motel

I stayed here because my usual Days Inn was closed, and this room was much better. It was the right size, with new amenities: a fridge, microwave, TV with some free movie channels, and working digital A/C with an Auto setting. The A/C was already on when I arrived, and there’s covered parking. The comforter and sheets were clean with no cigarette burns, and the painted walls and doors had no holes. Tile floors, a walk-in shower with good pressure and temperature, and a curved shower bar that wasn’t falling down were welcome surprises. There were more outlets than usual, eight by the bed and nightstand. The sink counter isn’t big, but it still fit my toiletries. The property itself is small and older, so I didn’t expect the room to be this nice. They’re planting foliage around the grounds. I didn’t need ice this trip, so I can’t say whether there’s a machine. I enjoyed the stay enough to book another night next time I’m in Alice. The owners clearly care about their guests’ experience, and this will be my new place to stay in the area.
