Alma Comfortable Inn

The bathroom was awful. The shower curtain was covered in some kind of stuff, and the ceiling looked like it was almost falling in and had more stuff on it. The towels were stained and had other people's hair in them. Then, while I was using the bathroom, a really long bug with a million legs crawled across the floor. The carpet had stains in several spots, and the bed looked like someone had slept in it already because most of it was untucked. At first my boyfriend and I thought the hotel looked all right, but a closer look changed that fast. When we checked out, he told the woman about everything wrong, and she said she was sorry but that they sadly hear that a lot. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at, and I'd never recommend it.

It's fine if you just need a basic room out of the rain or heat, and the staff are really nice. The place smells like feet, there's no fridge, the pool isn't open, the pillows are thin, and breakfast sucks. I'll come back, though. One man was very judgmental and made everything seem like a damn chore, even though it's his job.

The room seemed decent at first, but the white blankets on the bed had obvious stains and looked dirty. When I pulled the comforter all the way back, I found a live bug crawling around. I asked for a refund right away and got one. I can't recommend the Alma Comfortable Inn, since it seems likely they have a bug problem. I was in Alma for a convention and had booked one night. I checked in around 10 PM, but the card keys wouldn't open the door. After I went back to the front desk, a staff member came to the room with a new set and let me in.

The pool was closed for cleaning, but I wasn't there to swim. My room and bathroom were spotless, and the staff treated me really well. I'd read a lot of reviews expecting a nightmare, but none of those problems happened to me. Nothing was stolen, and my room didn't smell like smoke. The parking lot outside smelled like a wet forest, probably because the hotel is surrounded by woods. To me, it's the same smell you get anywhere up north. There may be five hotels or motels in this very small town, and I'd choose this one again in a heartbeat. I'm used to big city living, but I didn't expect to feel at home here. I got what they advertised. The air conditioner's front cover looked pretty shabby, but it blew air cold enough to make you think it was winter outside.
