Holiday Inn Express Alpharetta - Roswell by IHG

The friendly welcome at check-in, convenient location, nice pool area, and decent food and coffee were the positive parts of our family stay at the Holiday Inn on Mansell Road in Alpharetta, Georgia. But the rest of the visit was disappointing and concerning. Soon after we settled in, I noticed the toilet kept running. It looked like a previous guest had turned off the knob to stop the noise. I told the front desk, and they said maintenance would come the next day. We left the Do Not Disturb tag off so the room could be serviced while we were out, but when we returned after 6 p.m., nobody had come, the toilet was still broken, and the room hadn’t been serviced. We had to move, and I wiped down and re-sanitized the new room for my family. Later that evening I saw small bugs, including on the bed and in the bathroom. I took video because it was alarming. My research suggested they might not be bed bugs, but any bugs in the sleeping area are unacceptable and distressing. One was actually in the bed with me. We were exhausted and hoped the room would be properly serviced the next day, but on Day 2 it still wasn’t turned over; we only got fresh towels. I felt itchy and uncomfortable throughout the stay and couldn’t relax or enjoy what we’d paid for. I was counting down until we could go home. Cleanliness, basic maintenance, and comfort are fundamental expectations. I’m relieved to be checking out, and hope the hotel takes this seriously so future guests don’t face the same problems with maintenance follow-through, housekeeping, and pest control.
