Samantha at the front desk was amazing, and Loretta, who handled food and hospitality, was one of the kindest and hardest-working people I’ve met. The young woman who worked at Knight was nice, but less thorough. After Samantha left, we ran into several problems. We had to clean the pool ourselves, the air conditioner stopped working overnight, and we couldn’t reach the desk because the room phone didn’t work. The second-floor ice maker was out of order too. If those things had worked and the pool had been clean, I’d come back, especially for Loretta and Samantha.

The staff tried hard to make things right, and the front desk clerk was very nice. The cleaning staff were sweet too, but management didn’t seem to care. We were charged twice for a deposit and overcharged overall, then had to move rooms because the first one’s AC didn’t work. When we needed extra towels, there weren’t any. The hotel was under construction, so breakfast was pastries with a cinnamon bun as the hot item. We asked the manager for a credit because of the overcharge and room change, but were refused. The staff deserve credit for trying, but there wasn’t much they could do. We won’t stay at this location again.

The receptionist was incredibly nice, and the fitness area has free weights and a pull-up bar with fun gadgets, besides the treadmills. This is Georgia, go outside and run. The place is the best I’ve stayed at, about five miles from Peace Love and Pizza, which was convenient. I hadn’t had breakfast yet, but it was very good. The kids were chaotic, but that’s what Holiday Inn is for. God bless these people!

The General Manager, Sam, was rude and showed little empathy, communication, or management skill. We spent $1,300, and the only compensation offered was points and a credit for one of the six rooms, worth $255. I never received it. There was no apology at checkout, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially for groups. Our AAU basketball team flew in from MD for a tournament May 1-3, during peak season when teams often stay at hotels with 15- and 16-year-olds. Nobody told us renovations were underway, and they shut off the water during busy hours without warning. We were told it would be back on at 10:50 p.m., but at 11:30 it still wasn’t. After Friday’s game, we’d fed the group and planned to shower before an early game. The players went to bed without showers and couldn’t flush the toilets, so waste sat there until morning. Our coach stayed up doing laundry and didn’t get to bed until 3 a.m. One of the TVs in our six rooms fell off the wall when someone moved it on its swivel. Marriott would never.
