I booked a room for my wife’s birthday, and Emily was wonderful. She decorated it for the occasion and even made a card by hand. Thanks, Emily!

We had such a good time dining at Shadows restaurant on both evenings. Cadence, Emily, and Alexandra took great care of us. We tried drinks, sandwiches, wings, and dessert. The house salad came with a mix of greens and other fresh ingredients, and the honey mustard vinaigrette on the fried brussel sprouts made them a standout. The fries were among the best I’ve had, the tallow really made them special.

We won’t be back. The service was friendly, but very slow, and the meal wasn’t good. It was a little busy when we arrived, though most people left soon after. Even so, it took over 30 minutes to take our order. The chicken tenders were nearly black from being overcooked and tasted plain, as if all the seasoning had burned off. The $24 DM Special NY Style Sub had very little chicken and wasn’t good. The burgers were fine, and the brat pasta was pretty good. There were dirty dishes on so many tables. By the time we left, only one or two groups were still there, but almost every table still had dishes on it. Restaurants in actual Alpine have much better and more affordable food.

The views and cozy atmosphere were wonderful, and we’ll definitely return. The restaurant is open to the public and a must-try, a refreshingly high-quality choice for the area. We liked that we could dress up or keep things casual. We had the pulled pork, smoked onsite, and locally sourced top sirloin. The salad, baked potato, and fries were all fresh and delicious. Emily served us well, and you can tell she really cares about the place.
