I booked a private room because we were crossing the country with a lot of belongings and wanted somewhere secure to leave them. Instead, maintenance was happening in the room throughout our stay. When we returned one day, the door had been left unlocked by the maintenance worker, so anyone could have gotten to our things. They also don't check IDs here, despite it being a hostel. The room wasn't ready when we arrived shortly before 6, even though check-in was meant to start at 4. I had asked about arriving early and was told no, which was fine, so we adjusted our plans. A worker was still in the bathroom and said he needed to finish before housekeeping could clean. When I messaged the owner, she got defensive and scolded me, saying there was a difference between waiting two hours and the room still not being ready at 6. I didn't understand what she meant. The next day, a woman said work in the room would continue, and workers kept coming and going while we were paying to stay there. Then there was the big dog. It rushed us as soon as we pulled up and wouldn't let me get out of the car. It knocked my child over and busted their face open, and kept harassing my kids. They're now scared of dogs and traumatized by what happened. I feel like I should call an injury attorney. It's ridiculous to pay for a private room and deal with all this, and I don't think I should have to pay when the room was being maintained the whole time. I want a refund. The owner also told me I'd save money by booking directly through her instead of Airbnb. I wish I'd booked on Airbnb, because I think I would have gotten a refund for this crappy place. I wouldn't come back.

Loved staying here. It's cute, affordable, and really accommodating, with games, breakfast choices, and even a pool table. Everything was clean, from the rooms to the bathrooms. I'd happily stay again.

That converted study room was much colder than the main hall, even though Idaho nights in late September get pretty cold. There weren't any extra blankets, so I kept my jacket on to sleep. Most of the other guests were friendly, but one young Chinese traveler got up early, switched on the bright lights while people were resting, made a lot of noise packing, went in and out several times, and left the study door open. I'd never had another guest behave so inconsiderately before. I was only there for one night, so I missed some of the details, including the complimentary continental breakfast. The contactless check-in was easy: I followed the instructions sent beforehand and found the property without trouble. There was also a welcome note with my name on the living room table, which was a nice touch. The ranch setting in Idaho was captivating, and the place felt like a quiet oasis during peak season in Grand Teton, when hotel prices get outrageous. Jackson is nearly an hour away, but I still had a wonderful experience.

The property felt like a relative's home, and it was stunning and so welcoming. The beds were comfortable and warm, and everything was easy to use. We stayed one night in the mixed bunk room before driving to Teton National Park the next morning, and it was the best choice we could've made. I've been coming to this area my whole life but had never experienced it this way. I'd love to stay again.

We stayed three nights in a private room while skiing at Grand Targhee. It was spacious and clean, and having a kitchen was great. We cooked dinner there every night. The complimentary breakfast wasn't really for us, but we brought our own breakfast food and that worked fine. We'd stayed in hostels before, so clear rules were fine with us, and the stay was comfortable once we'd read and understood them. Still, no alcohol is allowed anywhere on the property, and that isn't mentioned on the website or booking partner sites, so plan ahead. We also never met Beth, which felt odd since we've usually met the owners at other hostels.
