Days Inn by Wyndham Alta Vista

The staff were really nice, and the breakfast was a little better than average for a hotel. I needed a place in a pinch, so it worked, but I don’t think I’d stay again unless I had to. I was in the very last room at the end of the first-floor hall, where the WiFi was so weak it was nearly useless. Worse, the room had a serious cricket problem. I spent half the weekend catching them with a hand vacuum, and at one point there was even a lizard in the room. Management removed it, and he said they get in through the AC. Better filtration would fix that, it seems.

We were there for three days, and the hotel was close to everything we needed and wanted to do. The room was really clean, the staff were absolutely awesome, and breakfast was great each morning. Highly recommend it, and we’ll stay again!

Travelers, beware. We found insects in several parts of the room, along with human bodily fluids on the mirrors, carpet, sofa, and bedding. Dust and cobwebs might have been bearable, but the air fresheners being pumped into the room made it hard to breathe, so we had to leave just to get some air. This place felt truly uninhabitable and deplorable.

The room reeked of mildew or mold. We told the front desk after the first night, but the hotel was full and they couldn’t move us. They brought in a dehumidifier that morning; when we got back that evening, its tank was full, so I emptied it into the toilet. The tank was full again the next morning. All three people in my family had sore throats, nasal congestion, and headaches the next day. I would not recommend staying here. They have a serious mold problem and, frankly, should not be in business.
