The staff were fantastic, so helpful and kind, and I’d absolutely stay again. The hotel was very clean and accepts pets. Our room had hardwood floors, which make accidents easy to clean up if your pet is prone to them, and also mean the room doesn’t carry a pet smell. Every room smelled really nice. I also appreciated the vending machines, which had a great selection, including Yoo-hoo.

I just spoke with the front-end manager. He offered no solution, said this was their undisclosed policy, and said he’d talk to his manager, but that I “should do what I’m going to do.” I’m furious. We called the hotel, though the call automatically went to Choice Hotels, and booked a room at 1 am while traveling through from New York. We explained we wouldn’t arrive until around 3:30 am. We got there at 4 after stopping for gas and were met by a miserable, irritated employee, who told us he’d marked us as a no-show. They wouldn’t give us the room we’d paid for, saying he’d already run the audit and nothing could be done. Choice said there was nothing we could do either, even though nobody had told us about any arrival deadline. We ended up sleeping in our car in a Walmart parking lot. The room we paid for stayed empty, and they kept the $165 because so far they’ve refused a refund. I’m disgusted by how we were treated. This was the worst hotel customer service I’ve ever experienced, and nobody did anything to make it right. If I pay for a night, I shouldn’t have a curfew. At the very least, they should tell guests about one when booking. I hope you slept well last night, because we definitely didn’t.

I stayed at the hotel on a Saturday, though I don’t live in Virginia. I’m alleging that the front-desk employee stalked me while I was asleep, looked up my social media, and sent inappropriate messages. I was also charged three times for one night. I spoke to Sherrie, who said I’d get a refund, but I didn’t. Then she charged me a fourth time on Monday. She said she was returning my money, but took more instead. I called again today and she blocked my number. I had to file fraud charges. I believe there’s a scam involving the front desk and management. Ladies, if you don’t want staff harassing you and waking you to unwanted messages, don’t stay there. Update: I spoke with Tonya today, and she said, “I have nothing to say to you,” then hung up. This hotel is a joke, and I’ll be filing a complaint with corporate.

The rooms were pretty much what you’d expect, but they were still good and comfortable. That waffle machine is what’s kept me alive. The place felt secluded, though, with a long drive through the wilderness to get there.
