Fairfield Inn & Suites Des Moines Altoona

I was just passing through town and got a great price, room, and breakfast. Every staff member was friendly and easy to approach. I highly recommend it.

I sure do like this Mariott. It's in an amazing, quiet location with easy access to the interstate, and a couple of restaurants are close enough to walk to. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and I feel safe here.

Dan at the front desk was wonderful, so polite, cheerful, and courteous. Dan is the man. Jasmine was very nice too, and the breakfast lady was really sweet. Everybody was great. Good place to stay, check it out.

The hotel was clean, and all the staff were super friendly, especially the woman working Sunday and Monday days. She deserves a raise! But the sheets felt like sandpaper, the pillows were flat, it was very loud, the front door was broken, and the elevators were slow. The woman working Saturday morning needs some customer service training. I came in with my 3 lb dog and was walking toward the coffee, still nowhere near it, when she got up from the desk and loudly yelled "ma'am" at me several times. The lobby and dining area were full of people. I only wanted coffee, and my dog wasn't near any food or drinks. I said I was just getting coffee and felt mortified. I probably won't return after that treatment. Meanwhile, kids were running around without shirts or shoes and picking at all the food. Gross!
