The room was very clean, housekeeping had looked after it well, and everything inside worked. The heat pump was surprisingly powerful, the big chair was really comfortable, and the view was amazing. My bed was only a little firmer than normal, with soft, standard bedding. I slept fine on both my side and back, though sensitive side sleepers may want to be cautious. For under $90 a night, I’d stay again when I’m back in this lovely area. I was in room 222 for two nights around the end of January and used the online early check-in form. Physical check-in went smoothly, but I couldn’t get the back door’s keycard reader to work, even after trying it repeatedly. The clean lobby and halls smelled of cigarette smoke now and then. In the room there was ordinary wear, including missing paint on the windowsill, a noisy, uneven floor, assorted marks on the walls, and drywall patches in the bathroom. There was water damage where the shower met the wall, and the baseboard material was pulling away behind the toilet. The toilet also had a slow leak inside and flushed itself from time to time.

After the game, I got to the hotel to find that the room assigned to me, 317, was occupied by someone else. The front desk employee had my details written on paper and said there was an issue. The owner told me they hadn’t thought I was coming and had double-booked the room, even though I’d paid and checked in through the mobile link. When I explained that I was 2.5 hours from home and expected a place to stay, he apologized and asked, “can’t you just keep driving home.” I only got a refund after I complained and pushed the issue. I’d booked months in advance for a Penn State home football weekend and was required to reserve two nights. I checked in through the link on the day of my stay. This was a terrible experience, and the hotel felt poorly run, as if it was trying to double dip on a weekend already priced at three times the normal rate. This is my first Google review, and I strongly advise against booking here.

The bed cover had white residue on it. When I asked for a replacement, they handed one over the counter instead of sending housekeeping to change it. We needed help with the motion light, and staff came in to point out a blue dot on the mirror. A sign explaining it would have helped. Staff were also serving customers in their pajamas, which felt very unprofessional.

My wife stayed here overnight for the train ride, but the room smelled of cigarette smoke as soon as she arrived. She’d brought Lysol, and it didn’t help. I thought about asking for a refund and finding somewhere else, but she said we’d stay and learn from it. There was nothing for the continental breakfast. I’d appreciate a full refund, though I know that probably won’t happen. I would never recommend this place.

I booked a room for my mom to visit a friend from out of town, and the hotel had the nerve to say locals couldn’t stay overnight. Why? They already had a card on file. This will be my last time staying here. The free breakfast is a joke too, nothing like the photos. You have to ask at the desk for a muffin and juice.
