The employees were easily the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever met. I had a few initial problems with my room and had to switch it a couple of times, but the front desk guys were incredibly understanding and accommodating. They went above and beyond.

The employees are always kind and helpful, and I’m glad breakfast is included. For a hotel under $200 a night at this location and service level, I think the free breakfast is great. It isn’t gourmet and there’s no omelette station, but what do people expect from a free hotel breakfast? If you want a more upscale breakfast, what are you doing in Altoona and staying at a Marriott? This isn’t The For Seasons in Manhatten.

The breakfast room has decorations celebrating local heritage, including Horseshoe Curve. It’s next door to the VA hospital. I appreciate the complimentary breakfast buffet since I’m usually in a hurry in the morning.

We stayed on the top floor and slept well because it was quiet. There were four of us in the family, and the room with two queen beds was comfortable and didn’t feel cramped. The bathroom was basic, but seemed new and clean. It also had a full-size fridge, a small dishwasher, and a kitchen sink. We’ll probably stay again when we return for another Altoona Curve game. We were there for one night after seeing a game.

We only stayed overnight, so we didn’t get a chance to use the pool, though it was bigger than most at a commuter hotel. The free breakfast buffet was nice, the hotel was clean, and there was plenty of parking. The beds were comfortable for our family of four. We’d definitely stay again.
