Only the lobby looked nice. The hallways and staircase were rundown and creepy, and the lighting was very poor. My room was disgusting, with names carved into the headboard, an overflowing ashtray, and a bed that didn't look clean. I stayed once and won't come back. The staff were friendly enough, but the owners obviously just want to collect money and the staff are lazy. If I owned a motel, I'd keep it in tiptop shape. It's not that hard. Do NOT stay here!
My room was dark all the time because it had no outside walls and all but two light bulbs had been removed. I didn't ask them to fix it since I spent so little time in the room, but I'm sure they would have if I had. The staff were nice and cleaned the room every day. It was a good deal for the low price, with a comfortable bed and a big room. There's an indoor pool too. It's not top of the line, but it was fine for a few days. If you have friends at the base, it's right down the street, and you can watch the planes all day.
The price was nice, but I didn't feel comfortable checking in and went somewhere else, where I paid more. We hadn't made a reservation, and when I walked in the lobby it felt stuffy. It was clean, but the vibe seemed weird. Nobody was at the desk, just a number to call for service. Then I saw a sign saying " no refunds after 10 minutes," which was a red flag. I can't say much about the rooms or service, but the first impression wasn't friendly or comforting.
For a work overnight, I picked this place because of the price, but no price would make it good value. There was no soap, the room hadn't been vacuumed, and the wifi wouldn't connect. The door showed damage from previous use. All the white towels and the floor mat were stained, and there were stains all over the carpet. This was the worst hotel room I've had, except for another stay 20 years ago.
A roach showed up on our wall minutes before checkout on our last day. We'd already found the pool and hot tub closed for cleaning since November, even though the website said they were open. Breakfast was advertised, but staff said they'd never served anything but coffee. The rooms and hallways smelled of cigarettes, and it felt like there was no heat in the hallways with 20 degrees outside. Staff were pleasant at check-in and check-out, but the place itself wasn't. When we complained, the owner offered to move us to a room half the size that still smelled of cigarettes instead of letting us check out and get a refund. We'd been there for 20 mins, and there's a 10 minute window after check-in to decide whether to stay. We won't be back, and I'd encourage others to find somewhere else. The manager later replied to my review saying they were working to fix things, but when we spoke with the manager and owner they weren't actually willing to help. Nice try at looking good for the internet 👍🏼
