Rain Forest Resort Village

We booked a room in the Village inn section, then paid an extra $20 a night to move to a lakefront cabin. It was well worth it to be right by the water, enjoying the views, fireplace, and frogs in the evening. The spot on Lake Quinault is beautiful, and the Salmon House restaurant served delicious dinners. The service was friendly and helpful, and the sweet little dog at the front counter was happy to get pats. We lost power on the second evening, though that wasn’t the property’s fault, and the WiFi was patchy and inconsistent throughout our stay.

We hadn’t planned where to stay while trekking through the Olympics, but the views drew us in when we came to see the Sitka Spruce. We stopped at the office to use the WiFi and look up hotels after deciding against Aberdeen, and this place looked far too pretty to pass up. Dinner at the Salmon House Restaurant was amazing: garlic bread, steak, and blackened salmon. Small-town restaurants can be hit or miss, but this meal stood out and was better than some fine dining we’ve had. Joe, the owner, has been here since the 70s. We saw him working around the grounds, which showed how much he cares about the property. We got to chat with him and the woman at the desk, and both were very helpful. I’d absolutely recommend staying here, eating at the restaurant, and supporting this family. We’ll definitely be back.

When my pet ran off while I was camping nearby, the cashier printed signs for me and posted in the local Facebook group. People came to my campsite to help look. Everyone here was incredibly kind and helpful, and I can’t emphasize that enough.

The scenery is breathtaking, and the Sitka spruce is absolutely worth visiting. The rooms are a little old, but ours was clean and had all the amenities. I had a great time here. Definitely come by in the summer.
