The Cactus Cove Inn and Suites

My daughter liked the atmosphere, and the staff were very nice. It feels family friendly, with some cool spots to sit and take pictures. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, though ours faced the back parking lot. There was a water issue when we arrived that made the toilet flush slowly, but it was fixed within a few hours. The hotel could use major updates. The free breakfast was basic: bread, toast, donuts, juice, coffee, tea, and make-your-own waffles. The woman making the $7 breakfast was nice, and you can also buy egg and sausage plates. It worked for an overnight stay, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay more than a few days.

The amenities are nice, and the hotel was very clean. There’s a large indoor pool, a play area for kids, a big breakfast space, and a small movie area on Fridays and Saturdays. There's also a bar with live music and cheap drinks. The rooms are spacious, the beds were clean, and the place doesn't look stuck in the '90s. But the hot breakfast is not free. That's a big issue for me when traveling with a large family because breakfast is one way to save money. This time we were eight people, including extended family, so the unexpected $7 per person added to our budget. The hot food sits on a steam table like a hotel buffet, rather than being cooked fresh. They’re charging $7 for you to put it on your plate. If you want a complimentary hot breakfast with your stay, this isn't the place. Having to pay for food that isn't room service was a no-go for me.

The food at the Horseman is really good, and breakfast in the foyer is a treat. There's an amazing cook, and you can make your own Texas Belgian waffle with all the fixings. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and quick, and there’s lots for families to do. It feels like home and family here. Great location.

There’s plenty to keep kids busy here, from mini golf and a game room to pickleball, indoor playgrounds, and a heated pool. The adults can actually relax while the kids are entertained, so it works well for a family trip or a staycation. The rooms were clean, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the customer service was excellent. Cactus Cove Inn has what you need all in one place. What's not to love?
