We felt so at home at Hilltop that we stayed two extra nights. The beds were great, and the house was clean and comfortable. Sandy and West are easygoing hosts, so coming and going felt relaxed while we explored the Hudson Valley. Sandy's healthy breakfasts were lovely, especially the homegrown berry compote when it was available. We wish we could give Hilltop 10 stars!

That wraparound porch was gorgeous, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. Sandy also went out of her way to suggest things to do nearby and even surprised us with coffee in to-go cups before our early train. Her cooking was another highlight, especially the homegrown blackberry compote. Such a lovely weekend, and we can't wait to visit again.

Sandy had great antique store suggestions, and she was so thoughtful about my gluten allergy. On our second morning she made delicious gluten-free pancakes. Her rosemary and chive quiche was probably the best I've ever had, too. Our room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Sandy was a wonderful host, and I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance. Getting an Uber there was the one problem we had. Sandy gave us the name of a car service, though, and they picked us up within 15min of our call.

The drive to Sandanona was pleasant and took 15-20 minutes, which made Hilltop House a good place to stay for the Orvis course. My wife and I were there for a shooting course at Orvis Sandanona. The house is very pretty, the accommodations were nice, and we appreciated Sandy's efforts to make us comfortable. I'd recommend it to others taking the course. - Jamie Forsen

Sandy was a gracious, helpful hostess, and breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, very clean, and had their own baths. I tend to get cold at night, but there were plenty of extra blankets in the room. It's a lovely old house, and I highly recommend it. I'll be back.
