Iowa House

That family-style breakfast was a lovely way to start the day, with everyone sitting down to eat together. The hotel itself was beautiful and really comfortable, and we got a perfect night’s sleep. We had a wonderful stay last night. Highly recommend!

Cornerstone Church service was the best part of our trip. It was a quiet, random Sunday night with hardly anyone around, and I got the best sleep ever. The room even reminded me of my childhood home.

After walking all over campus, it was relaxing to have the main living room to ourselves with my cousin. I was glad my room had a fan, since I usually sleep with one at home. One thing to know, though: the place is heavily scented. If you’re allergic to fragrances, that could be a deal breaker.

We came to ride the Rail Explorer, and this charming place was close enough that its great reviews made it feel like an easy choice, even though I’d never really traveled to Iowa before. It’s an old frat house on campus. There were neighborhood parties, but we couldn’t hear them in our room. The rooms felt cozy and quaint, with a fridge and microwave, quilts on the beds, jetted tubs with bath salts, and old windows that let in wonderful natural light. And this may sound silly, but the toilet paper is REAL. You know what I mean. In the morning they served homemade breakfast, which I think changes each day. They were flexible if someone didn’t want what was being served, and there were plenty of continental choices too. Snacks and drinks were available in the dining room all day. The homemade carrot banana bread was delicious. There’s a spacious living room where you can read or visit with people, plus patio tables and chairs for nice weather. A quaint eatery with great coffee options is an easy walk away and stays open until 9 pm. We felt right at home in your home. Thanks, staff of Iowa House! I’m looking for an excuse to come back.
