Comfort Inn

The sheets seemed filthy, and they don't wash them or give you fresh ones. This is the nastiest place ever!

That $450 was absolutely not worth it, and I definitely won't stay here again. The room smelled of mildew as soon as we walked in, and my husband, who has asthma, struggled to breathe the whole time. The toilet kept running nonstop, and the shower left us standing in ankle-deep water. We're here for our yearly visit with friends and family, and everywhere else is booked, so unfortunately we still have one more night. I learned my lesson this year. Next year, we'll be at the Holiday Inn down the road.

After driving for 18 hours, I booked a room and found the person at the desk standoffish. I asked for a downstairs room, an upgrade, my free gift, and to put some cupboard items on my room. Every answer was “nope.” So much for being a GOLD member. I guess that’s as far as I’ll get. I won’t stay at another comfort inn, nope. I’ll call corporate Monday morning. Maybe they’ll know more English than just “nope.”

The location works for me since I'm from the city, but Comfort Inn/Amite needs a serious makeover. I've stayed many times, and the place has gone downhill a lot since I worked there when it first opened. The walls were stained, and the carpets, toilets, bathroom floor, curtains, windows, shower, and tub were all dirty. The showers were clogged every time we stayed. I also kept seeing the Indian couple who worked there as housekeepers every day, seemingly without a day off. It makes sense to me that the hotel isn't being cleaned and maintained the way it should be. Comfort Inn/Amite, you should be ashamed.
