Hickory House Inn

The gourmet breakfast wasn’t available because he was on vacation, so we got $14.00 vouchers for a nearby texmex restaurant. The room was nicely decorated, but it was 62 degrees. I found a small space heater and got it up to 67 by bedtime. I called the owner several times and was told his wife would turn up the heat for the old registers, but it never happened. The shower temperature kept swinging from very hot to cold. The bed and pillows were hard, and a sheet and bedspread weren’t enough in that cold room. I found a throw that helped, while my husband slept in a heavy sweatshirt.

We came for a little staycation in a historic house and had such a lovely time. The breakfast was delicious, and the service was courteous and attentive. We’ll be back!

We had special dietary requests, and the hosts went beyond what we expected to accommodate them. Both breakfasts were healthy and delicious, like eating at a gourmet restaurant. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere made it nice to chat with the other guests over breakfast. Our room was quiet and cozy, and felt like home away from home. If antique lighting is your thing, the beautiful historic building is a treat.

Breakfast was very tasty, and the building is beautiful. My husband and I stayed this time, and our comfortable, pretty room was in a great location in Anaconda. I plan to come back with my adult daughters and book one of the family rooms. They’ll love it.
