Cap Sante Inn

The front desk attendant was the sweetest, and I wish I could give the inn more stars for her. The rooms smelled a little funky and felt too warm for me. They gave us a box fan, which helped a lot. On my first stay I wasn't sure the sheets had been washed, but the second stay across the street was much nicer. I just wish they had working AC.

It's a great spot within walking distance of the marina and downtown, but the upkeep was poor. Our room felt like it hadn't been updated since the early '90s. There was no ventilation, the fan was clogged with debris, and moisture had gotten under the bathroom floor. The hairdryer was broken, the baseboards were loose, the paint was chipped, and dust had built up for years.

The room was damp and smelled bad, and it cost three times my original booking price. I'd booked a room with two queen beds directly on the website months ahead and got their confirmation email. When we arrived, they said they had no reservation under my name and were sold out apart from a suite. I showed them the email, but the owner said there was nothing she could do because my card hadn't been charged. Since it was late, we took the suite. It also had two queen beds, plus an extra sink, but they charged us three times what the original reservation said. Don't go here.

I'd booked nine months ahead with friends, but on arrival they put me on the opposite side of the property from them. I was also charged more per night than the amount in my confirmation email.
