Calico Motel

The room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. There was trash left inside, piss on the toilet seat, and dirty sheets on the bed. The walls had holes and smudges, and there was no fire/smoke alarm. Absolutely terrible experience. This place should be shut down.

We stayed about an hour before we’d had enough and left, but trying to get a refund just went in circles, so we gave up. The room was filthy, with insects crawling over the floor and bedbugs around the bed, toilet, and sink. The pictures showed only 5% of it. Staff rented out an infested room without doing their due diligence, then denied responsibility and said it had been clean before. They take the money and neglect customer service, acting like they care when they don’t. Stay away.

The room was awful value, even for a $70 stay. The beds had no blankets, just ripped, threadbare sheets, and the mattresses were lumpy and sagged to one side or toward the middle. The towels were ripped and worn too. The shower water barely got warm, no matter what time we used it. I wiped every surface before touching it or putting my things down, and the disinfecting wipes turned black. I went through 3 large packs. To get toilet paper, you had to go to the front desk with both your room key and an ID just to get one roll. The surrounding area felt dangerous. I saw a homeless man going from room to room, trying door handles and looking in windows. Staff saw him and did nothing.

There wasn’t much service, and they didn’t have coffee or anything. The room was okay for its type, and the bed was comfy. The bath mat looked clean until I unfolded it, then I saw how dirty it was.
