The location was the one real plus: Target and Disneyland are both close enough to walk to, and housekeeping came by daily to replace the trash bag. But the room itself was in rough shape and needs more than a little paint. There were loose hairs all over, and the towels had alarming red-orange stains that might have been blood or something else. The tub had cracks sharp enough to cut your feet, partly covered by a moldy bath mat. The pillows were awful, the lighting was dim, and the walls and ceiling let through every sound. Housekeepers banging around outside at 7 AM woke me up. I didn't spend much, and I guess I got what I paid for.

The heat and air conditioning worked well, and the shower pressure was good. The room had one school-style chair, though, so there wasn't really anywhere to sit except the bed. The TV had very basic channels and wouldn't let us install apps like Netflix. That tiny pool sat in the parking lot and didn't look inviting, so we skipped it. There weren't any other amenities. The ice machine had been broken for ages, judging by the old out-of-order sign, and they told me to buy ice at the gas station. The tap water tasted awful, though to be fair, it seems to taste bad across LA and Orange County. We stayed four days near the Convention Center and Disney Parks, about a 15-minute walk, or 20-plus with little ones, with only a street or two to cross. The price was reasonable, but the property felt very worn. Rooms were said to be clean and had no bugs, yet the smell was bleachy except by the sink and bathroom, where it smelled like sewer gas. Mattresses and pillows were lumpy, sheets threadbare, and towels worn. Surfaces were chipped, sticky with thick paint and too much caulk, and the walls were peeling. It was dark and uncomfortable to hang around in. The microwave was old but clean. The newer fridge had a separate freezer, but wasn't cold at check-in and took a full day to cool after we changed the setting. The plastic tub liner felt spongy, there were no bathroom hooks, and the shower bar kept falling off. Our keycards also failed repeatedly, and we had three remade over the four days.

The manager's staff gave us a refund and wished us luck, but it took three hours to find another room. Thankfully we'd booked through hotels.com, whose staff apologized and paid for the hotel we had to move to. This whole stay was awful, from the staff to the rooms. They don't treat for bedbugs, so run. We used to stay here often because it's close to Disneyland, but this was the last straw. We were assigned room 105 on the ground floor. My husband dropped me off while he went to get fast food for dinner, and I found a dead bedbug in the bathtub. Then I saw a live one crawling on a pillow and ran out screaming. When my husband came back, we pulled the bedding up and found five more live bugs. I rushed to the desk and showed the young woman there three dead bugs. She called the manager and told me they wouldn't move us. It was the middle of the night, they were sold out, and we were left without a room. Staff called the bug a beetle. The next day we drove past and saw someone checked into that same room, less than 12 hours after it had been crawling with bedbugs.

The location was convenient for the Convention Center, and Disneyland was easy enough to reach: bus 43 from by Denny's was $2, the Toy Story parking lot bus was free, Lyft cost $8, and the ART bus was $4, though it was due to stop running soon. Parking was just enough, my car was fine, and I felt safe. The ice machine was out of order, but a staff member said he'd get it fixed by summer and pointed me to the AM/PM next door for ice. Staff were friendly, and the hotel was in the middle of a remodel. Our room had its carpet removed and maybe a fresh coat of paint. The mattress had a big dip and needs flipping. Please bring your own pillows. The iron worked, but grime fell out when I moved it on the wonky ironing board, so I shook out what I could to avoid marking my clothes. The sink had no stopper, which made me anxious about anything going down the drain. Water pressure was good and got warm quickly. The hotel phone number never worked for me, and there was no front desk button. Our key stopped working halfway through, but they fixed it easily. Makeup was hard in the terrible lighting. The AC worked, and there was a bit of a smell, though nothing awful. A somewhat disheveled woman sat by a ground-floor door. We learned she was homeless and wasn't staying there. Work was going on as late as 11 PM, but I never heard it. A couple of things felt off, but the room was usable.

We left for another hotel and had to pay for that stay too, while this place kept our money and refused a refund. When I complained to management about the sheets, they said the hairs were from the dryer and the urine stains had been washed but wouldn't come out. What a joke. The roof was visibly uneven in color, with sections sagging. Inside, the sheets were full of hair and urine marks under the comforter. This place is disgusting. Stay away if basic cleanliness matters to you. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
