Alex Hotel & Suites Anchorage Airport

I left Alex Hotel rather than stay in either of the rooms I was shown on July 28, but I was still charged for the night. The first had dirty, used towels stuffed in the closet. In the second, I found an exposed mouse trap, a pill on the floor, and trash behind the nightstand. It felt filthy and unsafe. When I called to explain, the general manager, Sean, was rude and dismissive, with no apology or solution. He cursed and hung up after I said I would leave a poor review. This was a terrible experience in Anchorage. The place seemed unsanitary and poorly managed, and I would advise people to book elsewhere.

I found a very alive bed bug after I showered. The rooms looked nice, though dated, but that isn't okay. I showed the desk and they were very apologetic. Still, I'd sleep out front with the homeless before putting myself through that. I'm not sure how to post the pictures here, but message me on Facebook and I'll send them. If you're on the fence like I was, don't stay.

The place felt run down, with torn curtains, and I woke to a car engine sound like someone was racing. After our flight landed at 2am, we were told to collect our bags and call for the hotel shuttle. We kept calling for about 20-30 minutes, but the lines were busy, so we took a taxi. At the hotel we were told a power outage earlier in the week had taken the phone lines down. This was the worst hotel experience I've had, and it wasn't worth the money. I won't stay here again.

The location is convenient, and the accommodations are below average, maybe fine if you're trying to save a few bucks. What really made the stay a no for us was the help. The front desk won't lift a finger when there's a problem and doesn't care about your comfort. We won't stay again.
