Alyeska Hideaway

The downstairs kitchen and living room were comfortable and well equipped, making this a great place for two while enjoying the area. The cabin is somewhat dated, and the sleeping space is an upstairs loft, which may be an issue for some. They explain that arrangement clearly on their website. It worked perfectly for us and the area.

For my first Alaska visit, I booked Glacier Cabin, a charming, quiet little one-bedroom place with all the amenities I could need. It's tucked in the woods on the outskirts of Girdwood, just where I wanted to stay. I absolutely loved my time there and would recommend it to anyone after a quaint, peaceful spot.

The hostess lives right next door and was pleasant and helpful. The cabin was spotless and pretty, with everything we needed and more. We even spotted a Mama moose and her baby in the yard. From Girdwood we headed in a different direction each day to explore, and the location worked perfectly: about 45 minutes from Anchorage, an hour from Whittier, and 1.5 hours to Seward. Such a beautiful little cabin in a gorgeous setting, with lots to offer. We'd HIGHLY recommend the Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins!

The hosts even held onto some clothes we accidentally left behind on the way to our next stop, so we could swing back and pick them up. We couldn't have been happier with our few nights at the placer cabin on our Alaska trip. The setup and location were great, and the hosts were incredibly helpful. If we pass through girdwood again, we'll check these cabins for availability first. Highly recommend!
