The studio layout worked well, with the bed and bathroom tucked to one side and the kitchenette and entry finished in hard flooring for wet snow. A waterproof tray might help protect that floor. The property had only opened its top two floors when we stayed, and the pool wasn't ready; the automatic door also acted up now and then. Still, nearly everything else was new and working, which weighed heavily in my rating. The room was nicely done, with plenty of controllable lights, a cozy 5300k tone instead of harsh 9700k white, and a bright bathroom. I liked the lazy-boy chair and its little TV dinner table, plus all the modern USB ports and outlets. The kitchenette had enough utensils, though the glass chopping board will dull knives quickly, so I doubt they'll stay sharp in the months after this review. A whetstone might help. It had a hot plate, but induction would be safer and faster, and a short instruction note could explain the long press needed to turn it on. My wife couldn't figure that out. The gym, shared with Holiday Inn Express, was a decent size. The laundry had six or seven machines, all in perfect working order. Since it was winter and a soft opening, there were probably only a few guests. The ladies at the front desk were especially friendly and helpful. I'd stay again if I'm back in Anchorage.
