Rachael made the stay easy from the start. Her text before we arrived covered what we needed to know, explained how to get into the cabin if we came late, and linked to things to do nearby. There was more local information inside, too. We had a great late-July 2025 stay at the Carriage House in “Tecumseh's Stall.” This two-room space had been part of the old carriage house and stables, then sectioned off so it felt like its own cabin. It came with a private parking spot, microwave, small fridge, and coffee maker with freshly ground coffee, which was lovely in the morning. The spot was convenient for getting to Girdwood and the Alyeska resort, and we were pleasantly surprised to find the old Crow Creek Mine a short distance away. It made for a great morning visit. We do wish we'd had dinner across the road at the “Double Musky Inn” steakhouse, which locals and visitors both highly recommend. Instead, we ate at “7 Glaciers” at the Alyeska Resort. The tram ride up and back was fun and the views were great. We'd enjoyed eating there on another trip, but this time the experience didn't match the cost.

The house was clean and quiet, with lovely plants and flowers. After a long hike, we used the hot tube one evening and it was really nice, clean, all good. We stayed three nights in the Wagon room at the Carriage House. It has a king bed and private bath, while the kitchen is shared. Breakfast was included, with a good range of food and some gluten-free choices.

Kobuk's Stall cottage was so cute, clean, and comfortable, just the right size for two. It had everything we might need, from dishes and a kettle to a coffee maker and hair dryer. The hosts were easy to reach without hovering. Highly recommend!

The hostess kept bringing out delicious homemade breads or muffins, and her granola was tasty too. I had a great room. Though it was an AB&B, I was glad there was a stove so I could make oatmeal on chilly mornings.

For our first two nights in Alaska, the Carriage House was lovely. The room was clean, the drive from the airport was convenient and gorgeous, and Rachel was so welcoming. Breakfast was always there to help yourself to, with lots of choices and delicious homemade granola. We had a tour booked for the morning we checked out, and Rachel let us come back after checkout to pack and get our suitcases. Such a great place. I highly recommend it!
