Kyree and Wes made a fantastic first impression. Kyree greeted me as I pulled up in my truck, introduced herself, and offered to help with anything I needed. Later, I realized I'd booked a room without a bathtub, which I need for my back. She happily searched for one, and Wes brought the new keys up to the third floor because I had a lot of trade show bags. I didn't have to go downstairs for a cart and come back up. Kyree apologized several times, even though the mistake was mine. This is a beautiful new hotel, and I've stayed at every Anchorage hotel rated three stars and above. I haven't had service on this level anywhere else. Those two are superstars, and management made a good choice putting them in guest-facing roles. The hotel feels several levels above Alyeska Prince Hotel at the ski resort. It's my new choice in Anchorage for me and my whole business team.

Kyree made us feel welcome from the start. I called about ten minutes before arriving to ask about a walk-in room after leaving a bad hotel. While I booked in the app using a special rate code, she sent the airport shuttle to pick us up at our original hotel. By the time we arrived, she had us checked in with keys ready and a smile. It was the warmest, most genuine hospitality I've had in Anchorage. Management, please recognize her work. The hotel itself is new, clean, and nicely equipped for its class. If you want a good-quality stay, this is the place.

Lillian at the front desk was especially great. I asked for an extra hour in the room, and she offered two so I wouldn't have to rush to the airport. While I waited for the shuttle, I heard her on the radio asking several times how far away it was and saying it needed to get back ASAP. I had plenty of time, but the whole staff were wonderful. The room was fantastic, breakfast even better, and I saw a moose on the way to the airport. I didn't use the pool. I was only in Anchorage for the day while traveling on, and I've stayed at more than 100 IHGs around the US. This one is raising the bar. I recommend it completely.

It's a shame the Spenard location closed, but this new, improved HIE is a worthy replacement. The place is quiet and clean, with stores and restaurants easy to get to. The staff are friendly and helpful too. I'd happily stay again on my next trip.
