The room hadn’t been swept when I arrived, and the bedspreads and undercovers were covered in dog hair. I took the covers to the front office myself to sort it out, then woke at 2:30 a.m. with bed bug bites. When I pulled back the sheets, I found and killed two live bugs. At the front desk, the manager said there were no other rooms and wouldn’t refund me or move me. I spent the rest of the night trying to sleep in my van so I could work the next morning. Horrible experience. I don’t recommend this dirty, bug-infested motel.

The front desk guy was very nice and seemed helpful, and the outside looked good. But when I opened the door, there was a huge cockroach on the wall. That was enough for us, so we went right back and asked for a refund. I’d booked four nights through Priceline and only found out which hotel it was after paying online with my debit card. The desk guy explained how to get the money back through Priceline. We called, told them our room was already occupied by the roach gang, and the Priceline rep was great, approving the refund without hesitation. The front desk guy approved it too, and it all went smoothly. Negative five stars for the room, but five for the manager’s kindness and understanding, and five for Priceline.

The owners were really nice, and I had a bed, hot water, a small fridge, and a microwave. That was about the extent of the positives. We killed three roaches in our room, and the towels and bedding were stained. There are long-term guests living there, and while there’s no coffee in the lobby, there is a coffee maker in the room if you want to try it. I stayed four nights. I’d only come back if I absolutely had to, and someone else was paying.

The room was nice and clean, and the customer service was good. Then I woke up with a cockroach in my bed. The manager came in and killed it with a napkin, saying they’d never had a problem in that room. I asked for a refund, but was told no because I’d spent the night.
