The staff were nice, the location was great, and breakfast had a good selection. Even with the hotel full that weekend, they kept the food stocked. Our room was a little small but not terrible, and the heater sometimes couldn't keep up even though it wasn't very cold outside. I noticed a lot of building issues, though this part may not affect your stay and might not be Hilton's fault. The hotel is newer, but things already look like they need replacing. The main room floor seemed to be bowing. On the first night, the breaker for half the room tripped while we were only charging phones, and the person at the front desk made it sound like this happens pretty often. The bathroom looked worst: the shower seal has a gap that lets water out, and the extra water is making the floor bow more. There are also gaps in the flooring, including one in the center, and another where it looks like they didn't cut a piece to reach the wall. The short wall by the shower isn't straight, and the caulking looks like it was finger-painted on. It was all very noticeable to me.

The hotel looked great and the location is awesome, so it was disappointing to find the room unimpressive for a new place. The toilet was clogged, there was pee left on the floor, and the Wi-Fi router was loose in the wall. Booking was frustrating too, since it sent me to a call center instead of the hotel. I've had very poor luck with Hiltons in the Des Moine area.

I stopped by and spoke with Alex at the front desk. She was really helpful and explained the benefits of staying here. There's a pool and fitness center, and the price sounded really good. I'll stay here next time I'm in town. God bless Alex.

The new, modern property is in a great spot, with several restaurants within walking distance, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a mixed stay, though. The pillows weren't comfortable, and the internet was so slow that watching TV meant constant buffering. The thermostat seemed to use a motion sensor, so the AC shut off while we slept. We woke up overheated and uncomfortable several times. Faster internet, better room comfort and more reliable AC would make a real difference.

The clean room, great location and staff all made for a good stay. The bathroom fan actually cleared the moisture during showers, so the mirror stayed clear. Breakfast was the best hotel "free" breakfast I've had in years. The mattress and pillows were too firm for me, though others might prefer them that way.
