We came in early April for spring break, a family of four with two teenage daughters, and stayed four nights in the two-room unit. We’d waited too long to book a house on AMI, so this was our only option. After reading the negative reviews, we knew what to expect. The room is cruise-ship small, and the bathroom is even tinier. We only needed somewhere to sleep, since we planned to spend our time at the beach and eat out. With sunny weather, it worked out fine, but a rainy trip would’ve been rough. The room was updated, clean, and nice, and the property itself was pleasant. Check-in at their main property down the road was easy. The fridge is a “big” mini fridge or wine cooler, and there’s no ice maker. They said we could get ice at the larger check-in location, but I never bothered. The beach is very close, which is what matters most here. The heated pool felt really warm when we arrived, then seemed cooler as the visit went on. The air was in the low 80s with plenty of sun. A few things could be better. The pool wasn’t lit at night, which meant my 13-year-old couldn’t look for pool toys. I called the “front desk” about the lights but got stuck in a recorded loop. They later texted to ask how things were going, and I reported it then. The poolside trash can overflowed for the first couple of days. The larger bins are in the parking lot toward the beach, which is handy because the room bins are small, but management said they’d tell maintenance and it never got fixed. There’s a large paver area by the main road, sheltered by trees, where patio seating would have been nice. Our room had no seating once the sofa was converted to a bed. It’s also a busy intersection, so there’s traffic noise outside, though we didn’t hear much of it indoors.

The bathroom is so cramped that showering and washing your hair are difficult, and the sink is about the size of one in an airplane bathroom. The couch blocks the only small closet and doesn’t face the TV, while the coffee table has to be moved constantly because there’s barely room for it. We booked a king suite with a couch bed, but the king bed and couch are in the same room. Calling that a suite feels like a stretch. I wouldn’t recommend it. I also noticed the hotel staff don’t seem to respond to reviews, which makes me wonder if they care.

Getting into the room took a lot of driving around. Haley's has no front office, and after about 30 minutes on hold, a woman who answered the number on the sign told us to check in at another property. That place no longer handled Haley's check-ins, despite what the 866 number said, and sent us to a third location. There, we were told there was no reception at Haley's and given a room number and entry code. Back in the car we went. The bathroom sink and shower were tiny, about RV-sized. The communication and service were terrible, and this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The beach was only about a three-minute walk away, and we loved the sunset views. We also made good use of the pool and the outdoor shower for rinsing off sand, with nice places to eat and hang out nearby. Our room and separate kitchenette were spacious, though the bathroom was so small it was hard to move around with the door shut. The AC wasn’t especially cold either. The property is older but looks newly renovated. We had a great two-night stay, and check-in and checkout by text and phone were very convenient, especially since I’d initially read that we needed to go elsewhere to check in. I’d consider staying again next time we visit Anna Maria Island.

We booked this less than a week before our spontaneous island trip, and the little room worked out perfectly for a short stay. It was very clean, with coffee and a toaster provided, and daily housekeeping was helpful in such a tight space. We were close to the beach and local restaurants, but the area still felt quiet and tucked away. We loved our getaway, and I’d recommend Haley’s to a couple looking for a peaceful spot to recharge.
